Los trabajos cartográficos y el proceso de la Cartografia son considerados en este trabajo como hechos esenciales para el desarrollo nacional y centroamericano. Se afirma que los sistemas de información cartográfica representan el mejor y más idóneo instrumento de planificación a la vez permiten el ordenamiento del espacio físico, de acuerdo con las estrategias propuestas. Se discuten enseguida, las relaciones entre Cartografía y Geografía y la posición de la Cartografia en nuestras universidades. Se presenta, por ultimo, un esquema acerca de los trabajos cartográficos en el país.
ABSTRACT
The cartographic progress and works are considered by this paper as esencial facts for both national and centralamerican development. It is asserted that the systems of cartographic information represent the best tool of planification; meanwhile they allow the ordination of the physical space in agreement with the proposed strategies. Thus, it is discussed the relationship between Cartography and Geography and state of the country. Finally, the author outlines the national cartographic works.
