This paper addresses the social role of information through the use of electronic and computer technologies, which are indispensable for its processing, handling and dissemination. In this way, it divides the paper into three parts: current society and information, democracy and information, and passable solutions; and finally, it concludes by giving the main considerations with the objective of guaranteeing access to information.
