Information management as a central focus for the success of organizations

Management of information production has gained relevance during the last years and has become a subject to research study within a variety of disciplines at an informal level. Due to the increase in the information production, the organizations should have the tools to satisfy users’ demands and to improve the profitability in order to face the current economic setting.
The experience acquired by being involved in different stages and process of the organizations helps an individual identify areas of opportunity in regards to information management procedures. This management of information should be carried out in a systematic way to transform information into knowledge, to have an impact on all the organizational levels, and to train human resources with intellectual competences to suit the economic global challenges.
