From "Religion as a Content" to "the Religious as Reference:" Hints for an Intercutural Transformation of Religious Education in Costa Rica

Educational processes centered on objects of study tend to generate anthropocentric postures, questionable universalizations, and indoctrinating educational practices. When religious education prioritizes content, there is a risk of promoting moralizing processes. From the perspective of interculturality, it is possible to rethink religious education: it is a question of the religious being not understood as a content or object of study, but as a benchmark and as a human experience that provides a basis for dialogue and coexistence.
