The text is a self-reflexive pedagogical essay in which the analysis carried out by a university professor of French as a Foreign Language is described during her postgraduate process. It deals with topics such as the needs of a beginner professor, the characteristics of the university professor of the 21st century, as well as those of an FFL professor. The reflection comes after recognizing the importance of the pedagogical component for the training of university professors and the challenges that a university professor of the 21st century has to face, who must understand how transcendental his or her work is in the training of future professionals.
