Critical Pedagogy as a Suitable Tool to Develop a Critical, Reflective Position towards NICTs in Latin America

This essay addresses, in a preliminary way, a series of aspects related to critical pedagogy as an ideal pedagogical tool to develop a critical and reflective position before the New Information and Communication Technologies (hereinafter NICTs) in Latin America; it is part of a much larger research project. The main thesis that we hold in this paper is that ICTs respond to the socio-historical context and to the interests of those who created, administer, and make decisions about their use.
