Abstract

The short story "La herencia Matilde Arcángel" by Juan Rulfo is told by a narrator: Tranquilino Herrera, a muleteer who plays various roles: narrating the story and being a participant in it occupying the space of a character: El Compadre and Matilde's suitor Archangel.
