ABSTRACT
The primary objetive of this investigation is to present considerations about the soil and the soil and the vegetation of the Barva volcanic edifice. To realize this objective, it was essential to characterize the area by mans of a series of climatic, botanic and edaphic studies.
In view absence of bibliographic material about the study area, this study presents a peculiarity in the inclusion of an isotermic map and a graph of isoyeths designed and constructed exclusively for this type of investigations, as well as exhaustive comparisons in the soil laboratories of the Faculty of Earth and Sea Sciences and the Ministry of Agriculture. The statistc-mathematic diagram of random blocks was applied to the results obtained by means of the soil analysis. The developed conclusions emphasized the importance of preserving the zone as a national biologic reserve.
