ELEMENTOS DE CARTOGRAFÍA MATEMÁTICA Y SU APLICACIÓN EN LA ELABORACIÓN DE LAS CARTAS GEOGRÁFICAS
Keywords:
ABSTRACT
This article analyzes some basic concepts about mathematical cartography, from general aspects such as coordinate systems and reference surfaces. The cartographic elements concerning spheroids, datum and definitions of geographical coordinate systems are discussed, as well as the spheroid transformations. Based on these basic concepts, the fundamental aspects of cartographic projections theory and its main characteristics are discussed.
