Keywords:
Watershed, GIS, geospatial model, land use planningAbstract
Human activities have caused major impacts on the environment and therefore in the watershed. In Costa Rica during the last decades, watershed management has aroused great interest due to the increase in the number and intensity of environmental problems that they have generated, it is important to make proposals to guide strategies to reverse the degradation environmental and natural resource depletion, caused by population growth that continues to consume natural resources. In this paper we propose an integrated model-assisted Geographic Information Systems (GIS) oriented to the management and watershed management. GIS for its systemic approach to fit the context of watersheds and allow you to integrate and manage large volumes of data for spatial analysis. Today has been recognized and this use has spread to the most diverse disciplines, becoming strong support systems for decision-making space character.
