Estudio de algunos componentes del geosistema que explican la configuración de grandes unidades de comunidades, esto es, las formaciones vegetales. Se describen los factores de primer orden (de acción preponderante) y los de segundo orden (de acción secundaria), así como las correlaciones numéricas, cromáticas y graficas que permiten identificar tales formaciones vegetales. Se aplica esta metodología a la cordillera de Tilarán y la cuenca inferior del río Bebedero en Costa Rica.
