No. 69 (2021): Letras. January - June
Preface
Continuing with interest in expanding academic space to contemporary studies of Central American letters, the first section of this new issue of Letrascomplements the previous issue. Each article analyzes the complex relationships between specific literary manifestations and their historical and political referentiality.
Contemporary Central American literature, in its most renowned current creators, have opted for proposing new literary and ideological modes to account for certain hidden dimensions of the social and political history of the region. The academe, also from its institutional framework, must contribute to elucidate this ideological and artistic-literary process.
The following sections include applied proposals that aim to develop aspects on indigenous languages and the teaching of foreign languages from new perspectives. Each one, according to its object of study, addresses issues of historical and cultural development, which should be considered in any initiative that aims at the knowledge and use of languages in Spanish-speaking contexts.
