Author Guidelines

To submit a manuscript to the New Humanism Journal, the author must carry out the following process:

1. Review the manuscript in light of the document Publication Guidelines for Individual Authors 2024. If you wish to consult the APA norms (seventh edition), enter the presentation that appears in the sidebar of the website.
2. Download, complete, sign and submit the Letter of Originality and Assignment of Rights 2024.
3. Register as an author in the Open Journal Systems 3.4 (OJS) editorial manager found in the National University Journals Portal (https://www.revistas.una.ac.cr/index.php/nuevohumanismo), in case you are not registered, and click on the Submit an article button in the sidebar of the website.
4. Have an Open Researcher and Collaborator Identifier (ORCID). Otherwise, you must open an account at the link https://orcid.org/.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All manuscripts must meet the following requirements:

  • The submitted file is in Microsoft Word format (doc or docx).
  • The manuscript has not been previously published or submitted to another journal simultaneously, or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the editor.
  • The Letter of Originality and Assignment of Rights 2024 has been completed, signed, and submitted to our editorial manager Open Journal Systems 3.4 (OJS).
  • The manuscript is formatted according to the Author Publication Guidelines 2024.
  • The manuscript complies with APA seventh edition standards for citations, paraphrases, references, tables and figures.
  • Check that the corresponding license for the use of maps, graphs, drawings, diagrams, phorography and illustrations has been obtained.
  • References have DOI or URL, if possible.
  • The manuscript has a title, abstract and keywords in Spanish and English.
  • The manuscript highlights the relationship between the topic to be developed and humanism and explains why the content of the manuscript is relevant to contemporary humanist thought.
  • The authors have included their ORCID number in the metadata.

Artículos (sección arbitrada)

 En esta sección se publicarán artículos derivados de investigación, artículos de revisión biblográfica, artículos teóricos derivados de experiencias didácticas o acción social, comunicaciones cortas, ensayos académicos y semblanzas, en los cuales se destaque su vínculo con el humanismo y el aporte para el desarrollo de la praxis humanista en la sociedad contemporánea.

Creaciones Humanistas (sección no arbitrada)

En esta sección se publicarán poemas, cuentos, monólogos y dramas de corta extensión, cuya temática refleje la condición y la naturaleza humanas en la sociedad contemporánea.
