Abstract

This article addressed the issue of curriculum design in teacher-education programs in Costa Rica from three complementary perspectives; namely, the emerging socio-cultural and pedagogical contexts; the perspective of the agents involved in the education process, including teachers, parents and students; and finally, the design and management of the curriculum in the strict sense of the word, with its significant impact on the development of school programs.
