Abstract

The Professional Secretarial Unit has a different way to teach. The second-year students have the possibility of learning and practicing at the same time. With the Dual Vocational Training Project, which consists in making a selection of some students and putting them in different companies around the Costa Rican central valley. The Project counts an some of the most important government and private companies that help with the development of the country.The students go through a learning process, In which the students pun into practice what they have learned and adquire more knowledge about the office management. because they aren’t working or doing an internship. The purpose is to acquire experience while they finish the second year of their majors (office administration or commercial education). It is very important for the Dual Vocational Training Project to stay in touch with the companies and the students results. The project contains a group of qualified professors to visit them and make the connection between the University and the company. There is also a guide supervisor in the office that has to be helping the students through the learning process.
