Abstract

In recent decades, humans have experiencedrapid growth and therefore the increasein demand for natural resources on the planetthat is why people need to develop an ecologicalconscience to decide the fate of life on theplanet, as the depletion of natural resourcesand environmental degradation have a directimpact on achieving peace, democracy andrespect for human rights in a country.

Rafael Ángel Calderón Fournier

Rafael Ángel Calderón Fournier (1949). Abogado de profesión Estudio Derecho enla Universidad de Costa Rica. Fue electo presidente de la República de Costa Rica(1990), ocupó el cargo de presidente de la Comisión de Asuntos Sociales (1974) y fuemiembro de la Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social (1970).
