About the Journal

 
Focus: SIWÔ': theology Magazine/ Socioreligious Studies promotes the study of religion from an interdisciplinary and intercultural perspective. It is published twice a year from the National University, Heredia, Costa Rica. 
 
Objective: To promote the development of research in the field of theology and socio-religious studies at the national and international levels. 
 
Content: SIWÔ' publishes articles, commentaries and bibliographic notes. 
 
Target audience: SIWÔ' is aimed at the national and international population, made up of researchers, teachers and undergraduate or graduate students interested in the study of religion from an interdisciplinary perspective.
 
Frequency: Half-yearly. The first issue (January-June) is published on January 31 and the second issue (July-December) is published on July 31. SIWÔ' is declared as of September 22, 2021, as a continuous publication of contents. It starts with this modality from Vol. 14. No. 2. Year 2021.
 
Language: Papers written in Spanish are preferred. However, the Editorial Board accepts contributions in other languages, mainly Portuguese, English and French. Papers will be subject to philological review by a specialist.
 
Original content: Papers must be unpublished and original; they must not be approved for publication in another journal (a letter will be sent to the editorial committee attesting to this). The author will attach personal contact information: institution, e-mail, city, code ORCID.
 
 
Summary of the external peer review process
 
Papers will only be published when they receive favorable opinions from two referees external to the Editorial Team of the journal; if a manuscript receives divergent opinions, it will be sent to a third referee. The type of arbitration is double blind, i.e., there is anonymity of both parties (author and referees). Finally, the Editorial Board will approve or reject the publication of the manuscript and will communicate the decision to the author. The author will receive a communication from the Editorial Committee indicating the final decision.
