SIWÔ' Journal of Theology
/Journal of Socioreligious Studies, is a publication of the Ecumenical School of Religious Studies of the National University, Costa Rica.
It is a biannual magazine of continuous publication. The first issue is published on January 31 of each year and runs from January to June; the second issue is published on July 30 and runs from July to December. It is an open access academic journal, refereed by external peer reviewers, under the double-blind modality.
The journal publishes original and unpublished articles and reviews related to the following descriptors: theology, socio-religious studies, interculturality, interdisciplinarity, intersectionality and decoloniality.
It is indexed in: LATINDEX, BIBLAT, Red Latinoamericana de Revistas (LatinRev FLACSO), REDIB y MIAR, as well as appearing in several national, university, central american and latin american repositories.
The publication was born in 1993 as an ecumenical magazine, but in 2008 it became SIWÔ', a word originating from the Bribri language (of the native indigenous group of the same name) whose meaning is: “soul, wind, history and can also be understood as world view”.
