The main objective of this essay is toidentify how one of the biggest attemptsto join to identify how the Central Americancountries into the Central AmericanCommon Market was a failed project.Our study is focused between 1962and 1979. It does not have the pretensionof being an exhaustive or completeevaluation of such Central Americanendeavour; rather it aims to signal someof the general aspects of the integrationprocess, and the possible main causesthat might have lead to its unsuccessfulresults. Reference is made to José Martí´sideas in Nuestra America as valid considerationsthat serve the analysis for an theintegration strategy.References
