Author Guidelines

  1. To publish in the journal UNICIENCIA you should use the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, latest edition (APA).
  2. Read the Rules and guide for authors carefully.
  3. The use of the journal template is suggested, but not mandatory for submission. If the paper is approved, authors are required to use the template. 
  4. Read and sign the Letter of Submission of articles, with all the information requested (The letter of submission must be signed by all authors). Pay special attention to the use of preprints.
  5. Read the policy for articles written in English (Policy on receiving papers in English).
  6. Read the code of ethics.
  7. Read the calendar of reception of submissions and the approximate time to publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The Standards and Authors' Guide were read and used.
  • The policy for papers written in English was read and accepted, if applicable.
  • The Commitment Policy and Code of Ethics were read and accepted.
  • The period for reception of papers for the journal has been consulted. All submissions made after the deadline will be deleted.
  • As indicated in the template instructions, before submitting, the authors searched whether the references had dois available using the site https://doi.crossref.org/simpleTextQuery, and checked that the suggested dois link to the correct website.
  • The conditions described in the letter of submission (mandatory) have been read and accepted. It must be signed by all authors. This letter must be signed and uploaded in this repository, together with the paper.
  • The preprint was uploaded to a repository prior to this postulation.
  • It was understood that the approximate time for review is 12 months and for publication is 18 months.
  • For papers in English it is highly possible that an expert proofreading is required on a mandatory basis. This will have to be paid for by the authors.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

1. Authors guarantee the journal the right to be the first publication of the work as licensed under a Creative Commons  (CC BY-NC-ND).

2. Authors can set separate additional agreements for non-exclusive distribution of the version of the work published in the journal (eg, place it in an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.

3. The authors have declared to hold all permissions to use the resources they provided in the paper (images, tables, among others) and assume full responsibility for damages to third parties.

4. The opinions expressed in the paper are the exclusive responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the opinion of the editors or the Universidad Nacional.

The authors have authorized the Uniciencia Journal to publish the name, e-mail, Orcid, affiliation, city, and country of each author, as well as any information related to the article that is requested in the instructions for publication in any database, indexes, social network and other media, including all metadata and elements of standardization.
