Efecto del pH, la luz y la concentración de sacarosa en la Embriogénesis somática de cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) (ING)
Abstract
These responses were influenced by pH, light and sucrose. Gain in fresh weight was optimum at pH 6,7, after which a decrease was evident. The effect of light was different for both cultivars with the number of embryos being higher under dark conditions. Formation of callus and differentiation of somatic embryos were directly influenced by the concentration of sucrose. The greatest amount of embryos was obtained with 6% sucrose for cultivar UF-613xIMC-67 and 4% sucrose for cultivar CATIE-1000. Direct somatic embryogenesis was observed. The present work suggest that modifications are required when tissue culture protocols for somatic embryos are applied to tropical crops like cacao.Downloads
