RELAClÓN ENTRE LA FORMACION DE QUISTES OVARICOS, PRODUCCION LACTEA Y FUNCION TIROIDEA EN VACAS LECHERAS

Se realizaron análisis radioinmunológicos de los niveles séricos de las hormonas tiroideas (T3 Y T4) en vacas lecheras de la raza Holstein, asignadas a tres grupos: grupo A, vacas que presentaron quistes ováricos; grupo B, vacas de alta producción lechera; y grupo C, vacas de baja producción lechera. Al comparar los resultados se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas (:0,05) entre el grupo A y C y entre el grupo B y C, pero no entre el grupo A Y B. Se concluyó que existe una correlación entre la función tiroidea y la producción láctea y que las vacas que presentan quistes ováricos poseen una actividad tiroidea similar a las vacas altamente productoras.
